When your product needs repairs, your manufacturer's warranty may not cover both parts and labour. But Geek Squad Protection covers you for both. Is your product beyond repair? No problem. If it can't be repaired, we'll replace it for you.

It's not just your main equipment that breaks down. Accessories can also experience issues over time. With Geek Squad Protection, you're covered for accessories and secondary devices that come with your original product, such as monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, docking stations, and remote controls.

No Lemon Policy
With Geek Squad Protection, you're not stuck with a faulty product. If your product has required a major repair three times, and our technicians have determined that it needs a fourth repair, we'll replace it for you.

Power surges can happen at any time, causing damage to your equipment. Most manufacturers' warranties don't cover power surges, but with Geek Squad Protection, you don't have to worry. You're covered if a power surge occurs.

Coverage is Transferable
If you’re selling your product or giving it as a gift, you can transfer your coverage to the new owner. Just click here to find out how to contact us. When you call, provide the name of the person you’re transferring the plan to. The transferee must then contact us and provide their address, email and phone number. The plan holder must have the original documentation to receive coverage.

International Coverage
When you're travelling, it is frustrating when your devices break down. Geek Squad Protection offers some International Coverage so you can rest easy knowing you're covered wherever you are.** For help when you're on the road, call 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778) within Canada and the United States or 1-613-634-4908 outside of Canada and the U.S. to receive information about how to make a claim.

On-site or In-store service
You're inconvenienced enough when your product breaks down. With Geek Squad Protection, we make the service process easy. You'll have convenient service options for many products. Choose from on-site or in-store service, and we'll get your product back up and running fast.

On-site Service
If you have purchased a plan that provides in-home service, we’ll send a specialized product technician directly to your home. If your area doesn’t have an available in-home repair technician, you may qualify to use your own repair technician, or we will arrange for a courier to ship your product to and from the Service Centre. In-store Service
For added convenience, we also offer in-store service. Simply bring your product into any store location, and our service technicians will take care of you.

No Deductibles
You can take comfort knowing that we pay all costs associated with a covered claim. You won't pay any deductibles or incur any out-of-pocket costs or hidden fees.

Adding coverage to online purchases is simple. When you're shopping online, you'll be offered the option to add Geek Squad Protection.

For qualifying in-store purchases, you can add Geek Squad Protection through your sales associate, or at checkout.

Up to 30 days after purchase
Didn't purchase coverage when you bought your product? No problem. Just visit any store location within 30 days of purchase and we'll be happy to add Geek Squad Protection to your product.

FAQ

Purchased In-store
Your Geek Squad Protection coverage will begin on the date of purchase.


Purchased Online
Your Geek Squad Protection coverage will begin five days after you receive the confirmation email informing you that your item has shipped.

Your Geek Squad Protection expiry date depends on the length of term purchased. For example, if you purchased a four-year plan, your Geek Squad Protection will expire exactly four years from the date it started.

All Geek Squad Protection plans are only available at the initial time of product purchase (or up to 30 days after purchase) with terms of 2, 3, 4 or 5 years depending on the type of product purchased. Once the coverage term has passed, the plan cannot be renewed.

Yes, your Geek Squad Protection is transferable. If you're selling your product or giving it as a gift, you can transfer your coverage to the new owner. Just click here to find out how to contact us. When you call, provide the name of the person you're transferring the plan to. The transferee must then contact us and provide their address, email and phone number. The plan holder must have the original documentation to receive coverage.

Terms and Conditions are provided to you at time of purchase, it's important to keep these for your records. A current example of plan Terms and Conditions can always be located:

  • In-store
    Visit one of our store locations and ask any associate in the store.
  • Online
    You can view and print a sample of the current Terms and Conditions of your Geek Squad Protection at any time on the website.

If you purchased In-store Service, you may take your product directly to a store location for servicing.

In-store
If you brought your item into a retail location to have repairs completed, you should have received a receipt which identifies your Work Order #. You can check the status of your claim online now!

In-store
If your product is eligible for coverage, the associate in-store will likely ask you if you'd like to add a plan to your order. If they don't ask you, feel free to inquire whether your product qualifies.


Online
For any product that is eligible for Geek Squad Protection, you'll have the chance to add a plan as you add your item to cart.

*Please refer to your Geek Squad Protection Terms and Conditions for detailed terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions. Please refer to the manufacturer’s warranty (in Quebec, the Legal Warranty) for a manufacturer's coverage.
**International coverage is on a limited basis. Please check your Geek Squad Protection Terms and Conditions.
The type of coverage that comes with your plan will be visible on your receipt as you purchase it.
